A romantic weekend for two in Riebeek Kasteel
Sunsets over the mountain, long lunches, wine at the cellar door and a private place to come home to.

Riebeek Kasteel is made for couples. It is small enough to explore on foot, quiet enough to actually rest, and has just enough going on that you never run out of things to do together.
Start slowly. Breakfast in the village, a stroll around the square and through the galleries, then a tasting at a wine estate in the valley. Many of the cellars are small, and the conversations are often as memorable as the wines.
In the afternoon, find a spot in the shade. Kringe Inni Bos at Kloovenburg is an open-air, self-serve picnic spot that opens from Friday to Sunday. Or buy olives, bread and cheese in the village and have your own picnic at home.
Sunset is the best moment of the day here. The light turns the Kasteelberg orange and then pink, and the swallows come out over the vineyards. Watch it with a glass of Swartland Chenin Blanc, then walk to dinner.
For two, Huis Agt, one of the stays on this site, has two private options. Silwer, the loft, sits upstairs with its own balcony and views, a fully equipped kitchen and an en-suite bathroom. Groen, the garden cottage, is a detached cottage with its own lounge, kitchen and a private courtyard with a pool. Both come with air conditioning, fibre Wi-Fi and a welcome pack, so you can arrive, unpack and do nothing at all.
